Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s Engagement Announcement
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift made their first public appearance since announcing their engagement this week. They attended a college football game at Arrowhead Stadium where Kelce’s alma mater, the Cincinnati Bearcats, faced Nebraska.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and the Grammy-winning artist announced their engagement in an Instagram post on Tuesday. The photo showed Kelce down on one knee in a garden, with a playful caption that read, “Your English teacher and gym teacher are married.”
During the game, Swift was seen sitting with Kelce as they both watched the second half unfold. The couple was joined by Kelce’s brother, former NFL center Jason Kelce, in a suite at the stadium.
Arrowhead Stadium holds special significance for Swift—it’s where their relationship first blossomed. The two began dating during Swift’s “The Eras Tour,” which is a bit ironic since Kelce initially struggled to meet her at one of her concerts there in 2023. However, by September of that year, Swift had returned to support Kelce, cheering him on alongside his mother.
Fast forward nearly two years, and Swift was not only back but also showing off a new engagement ring, featuring a vibrant-cut diamond from Kindred Lubeck.
Unfortunately for the couple, Nebraska’s quarterback Dylan Raiola threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Cornhuskers to a 20-17 win over the Bearcats. Cincinnati had a chance to even the score later in the game, with Brendan Sorsby driving them down the field, but a missed opportunity in the end zone sealed the game for Nebraska.
This outing could be one of the last relaxed moments for the celebrity couple before the Chiefs kick off their season against the Los Angeles Chargers on September 5.
