Tragic Case in New Hampshire: Mother Kills Family Before Taking Her Own Life

A mother from New Hampshire, who fatally shot her husband and two young children—one of whom was battling cancer—has also been accused of embezzling over $600,000 from her workplace.

Emily Long, 34, served as the operational director for Wing-Itz, a local chain known for its chicken wings. Allegations suggest that she began siphoning money from the company as early as January 2023.

On August 18, Long tragically took her own life after the incident in their family home located in Madbury, a quaint town near Portsmouth, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office.

Authorities reported that her husband, Ryan Long, 48, along with their two children—Parker, 8, and Ryan, 6—were discovered deceased from gunshot wounds. Interestingly, their youngest child, a toddler, was found unharmed.

Fisher, a representative from Wing-Itz, mentioned that he was uncomfortable seeking financial restitution from the surviving child. “I’m not interested in punishing the child for something beyond their control,” he stated, choosing instead to support a GoFundMe campaign aimed at raising funds for the toddler’s care.

Fisher noted that he previously filed three police reports in response to suspicious developments regarding the company’s finances. He discovered discrepancies in cash deposits that weren’t properly logged in the company’s records. A request for bank statements led to tension, with Long allegedly refusing to cooperate. Ultimately, she hinted at resignation or termination as an outcome.

Reflecting on the situation, Fisher conveyed his shock. “I felt there was no other option but to involve law enforcement. I really trusted her and her family. The outcome is just heartbreaking.”
