The Alabama Crimson Tide is gearing up to begin the 2025 season in Tallahassee.
On Saturday, August 30th, Ty Simpson’s eighth-ranked team will be at Doak Campbell Stadium, aiming to set the stage for a successful year ahead.
Last season, 2024, wasn’t a total failure for the Crimson Tide. New head coach Karen DeBoer had a solid first year, finishing with a commendable record of 9-3, despite a tough loss to Michigan in the Lerie Quest Bowl on a pivotal day. The roster looks promising, and fans are, well, expecting big things this time around. If the playoffs aren’t in the cards, well, let’s just say there might be some unrest among Alabama’s dedicated supporters.
On the other side, Florida struggled last season with a disappointing 2-10 record. In an effort to get back on track, the university has brought in quarterback Tommy Castellanos from Boston University. A win here could really boost morale after last year’s unexpected downturn (they had gone 13-1 and reached the Orange Bowl in 2023).
Coach Mike Nobel expressed optimism about his team: “I really like the way this team thinks. I liked the way they challenged each other, inspired each other, and pushed each other. It’s something that’s essential and something that this soccer team has really embraced.” Today, they’ll be putting that to the test.
