New Mexico lineman flees after short confrontation with Michigan player

The New Mexico Lobos lineman avoided another confrontation with the Michigan Wolverines during their college football match on Saturday night.

Michigan surged ahead significantly in the third quarter while the Lobos attempted a run in the middle. This led to a bit of roughhousing, particularly between Wolverines linebacker Ernest Hausman and Lobos guard Richard Pierce.

Replays captured Pierce pushing Hausman, but instead of escalating the situation, he chose to retreat when staff intervened.

In the end, Michigan secured a 34-17 victory. Wolverine quarterback Bryce Underwood threw for 251 yards and connected for a touchdown. Judge Haynes racked up 159 yards on 16 carries, scoring three times, while Merlin Klein was the leading receiver with six catches for 93 yards and a touchdown.

Hausman led Michigan’s defense with eight tackles, contributing to a team total of three sacks.

On the New Mexico side, quarterback Jack Lane also had a strong performance, racking up 208 yards, a touchdown pass, and another score from DJ McKinney. Wide receiver Dorian Thomas had a notable game with 10 catches, accumulating two touchdowns and 71 yards.

Looking ahead, Michigan will travel to face Oklahoma next week, while New Mexico prepares for a match against Idaho.
