Push-Up Contest Between Bryson DeChambeau and Gary Player at the White House
In a surprising showdown, LIV Golf’s Bryson DeChambeau faced off against the legendary Gary Player in a push-up contest, right on the White House lawn—an event that caught the attention of President Trump, who watched closely.
At 90 years old, Player joined the 32-year-old DeChambeau for this unique challenge, showcasing remarkable strength for his age. It was quite a scene, highlighting the spirit of competition and fitness.
On the same day, the two golf stars visited the White House as part of a broader initiative. President Trump signed a memorandum that brought back the Presidential Fitness Test Award, a program aimed at restoring competitive fitness activities in schools that were previously discontinued during the Obama era. This reflects a part of the Trump administration’s “Make America Healthy Again” campaign.
Player, who had displayed his prowess during the Masters last month, spoke from the Oval Office, emphasizing a message for youth: “Love this country, because you don’t realize how much is happening around the world,” he said, hinting at a deeper perspective on global affairs.
He continued to express concerns about current societal issues, noting, “There’s a silent war going on against America today. We need to help children understand that freedom, education, and wellness start with literacy and movement.” His point was underscored by the importance of a healthy lifestyle, which he practices diligently, claiming he feels as fit as a 60-year-old.
Player remains active and has set a goal of living to 100, staying fit through regular exercise and golfing. Interestingly, during the push-up contest against DeChambeau, he certainly didn’t show signs of slowing down—proving that dedication to health can really make a difference, even at 90.
