Tar Heels Kick Off Season with Exciting Debut
Jordon Hudson really caught everyone’s attention during the first game of the season for the Tar Heels against TCU on Monday night.
Joining her boyfriend, the new head coach Bill Belichick, Hudson was spotted on the sidelines at Kenan Memorial Stadium. This was her first appearance at a college game in Chapel Hill, which was quite a moment.
Dressed in a white tank top and Carolina blue pants, Hudson celebrated alongside NFL legend Randy Moss after Caleb Hood scored an eight-yard rush in the first quarter. It was all quite a scene.
Hudson attended Belichick’s debut game after he signed a hefty five-year, $50 million contract with the team last December.
Amidst the crowds and cheers, notable figures from UNC’s history—like Michael Jordan and Lawrence Taylor—were also seen on the sidelines. Others like Mia Hamm, Julius Peppers, and country singer Eric Church were expected to be part of the action too.
Hudson’s presence had been anticipated, especially since she’s reportedly played a role in shaping Belichick’s career. The 73-year-old coach mentioned previously that Hudson is helping to explore opportunities beyond UNC.
She showed up at his introductory press conference last December and has been present at various events since, including a spring game.
There was quite a media stir earlier this year when Hudson paused an interview on “CBS Sunday Morning” to navigate questions about their relationship. Some reports suggested Hudson was trying to manipulate Belichick’s career to benefit herself, though the coach countered this by stating she is managing his professional ventures outside of UNC.
Journalist Pablo Torre, who looked into their relationship, noted that Belichick’s family seemed concerned and had been doing their own investigation into Hudson. The university has denied claims that Hudson was prohibited from accessing the athletic facilities.
That CBS interview was tied to the promotion of Belichick’s book, *The Art of Winning*, which found a spot on the New York Times bestseller list. It even included a tribute to Hudson called “Creative Muse” and “Idea Mill.”
The couple revealed their relationship last summer, sharing that they first met on a flight in 2021.
Belichick, now leading the Tar Heels with a squad featuring 40 new transfers and a total of 70 new players, is gearing up for a significant change after parting ways with the Patriots in January 2024, where he had an impressive 24-season career with six Super Bowl Championships.
It’s quite a new chapter for him, and with Hudson by his side, it looks like the season shaped up to be filled with excitement and potential.
