Incident at Miami Airport Involving Child Snatching

A 23-year-old British woman, named Alvina Omishiri Agba, allegedly snatched a crying four-year-old boy from his mother’s arms at Miami International Airport. This incident occurred early on a Tuesday morning, as Agba approached the mother at a security checkpoint and asked if she could hold the distressed child.

According to reports from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, Agba picked up the boy, stepping out of line with him, leaving his mother behind in panic. When the mother followed her to reclaim her child, Agba firmly replied, “No, this is my child.” Agba then wrapped her legs and arms around the boy, effectively preventing him from getting away and pushing his mother aside.

In a moment of chaos, the mother grabbed her son’s arm, and the two women struggled for control. A witness, identified as Neylet Montano, intervened—shouting for Agba to release the child—before she managed to take the boy from Agba’s grasp. Several men then formed a blockade to stop Agba from attempting to snatch the child back.

Eventually, Agba fled the scene but was later apprehended at an airport checkpoint after she called 911. When questioned, she claimed she believed her mother would come for the child and stated she couldn’t recall the events clearly, saying it was “because God told her to do that.” She mentioned wanting to calm the boy down using images she described as a “rainbow wall.”

Agba is facing charges related to interference and battery, as records indicate. Reports also suggest that she hails from Luton, England, and she is currently being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Centre. There has been no response from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office regarding the incident so far.
