Rafael Devers' home run triggers chaotic brawl between Giants and Rockies

During Tuesday’s game in Denver, the Rockies and Giants might have had one of the most intense confrontations of the season, and it all kicked off in the first inning.

After Rafael Devers of the Giants hit a massive home run at Coors Field, chaos erupted as players erupted from the benches and a flurry of punches were thrown.

As Devers rounded the bases, Rockies pitcher Kyle Freeland seemed to take exception, surprising Devers as he passed first base. In response, Devers retaliated, with umpire Dan Bellino trying to separate them.

With emotions running high, the scene escalated as Giants players Matt Chapman and others attempted to confront Freeland, even as umpires tried to calm the situation down.

Things had settled somewhat before the teams met again, as players looked to re-establish control over the chaotic environment.

Ultimately, Freeland, Adams, and Chapman were ejected from the game.

As the Giants cleared the field, Antonio Censatella stepped in to pitch for Colorado, while Devers completed his milestone with his 30th home run of the season, contributing to an unusual start for the NL West matchup.
