President Trump has expressed “the warmest respect” for the leaders of China, North Korea, and Russia, while accusing them of plotting against the United States.
In a post made on his social media platform, Trump wrote, “President Xi and the amazing people of China are enjoying a wonderful day of great celebration. Please send my warm respects to Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un as you conspire against the United States.”
The context of this statement came when Chinese President Xi, along with Russian President Putin and North Korean leader Kim, appeared together at a military parade in Beijing marking the 80th anniversary of Japan’s surrender at the end of World War II.
This event marked the first time these three leaders were seen in public together. Trump expressed a wish that Xi would acknowledge America’s contributions to the victory in World War II.
“The crucial question is whether President Xi will mention the significant support and ‘blood’ the United States has provided to ensure freedom from hostile foreign invaders,” he noted in his post.
“Many Americans lost their lives during China’s pursuit of victory and glory. I hope their courage and sacrifices are appropriately recognized!” Trump added.
Before the parade, Xi referred to Putin as “an old friend,” indicating their close relationship, as reported by news sources.
In an interview on the Scott Jennings Show, Trump was asked about concerns regarding the alliance forming between China and Russia against the U.S. His response was clear: “I’m not worried at all. We have the most powerful army in the world. They will never use an army against us. Trust me.”
