Concerns Grow Over Missing Burning Man Attendee
It seems there’s been a troubling development at this year’s Burning Man festival, with a participant reportedly going missing just days after some unsettling incidents occurred there.
Vadim Kruglov, a 37-year-old from Russia, was reported missing by a friend on Tuesday after he hadn’t been seen since August 29. Some friends were worried; they’d arrived at Burning Man in Nevada from Omsk, a Siberian city, a few days earlier, on August 24.
His friend, Sofia Shechelbakova, shared on her Instagram, “He hasn’t contacted anyone since then. His tent and everything was left behind, but he never came back.”
She’s encouraging people to spread the word, saying, “If anyone has any information on Vadim, please reach out.” There’s a palpable sense of anxiety among those who know him, with her adding, “We’re really concerned and just hope he’s found soon.”
Meanwhile, both the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office and festival organizers haven’t responded to requests for information about the situation.
This comes on the heels of a shocking discovery earlier in the festival, where some attendees were found dead in a “blood pool.” That case has been labeled a homicide, but details about the victims remain unclear.
Authorities reported that the main attraction of the festival, a large wooden statue known as the “man,” had been set ablaze, and an investigation into the unfortunate events began soon after.
On Monday, law enforcement took action with an emergency lawsuit aimed at deciphering the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Sheriff Jerry Allen emphasized that “no detail is too small to overlook.”
Interestingly, on the same day, a felon was arrested for gun and drug offenses amidst traffic stops involving attendees leaving the chaotic scene. It’s hard to say what exactly is going on, but the atmosphere at Burning Man seems to be more fraught than ever.
