President Donald Trump has expressed an increased interest in distancing America from comedian Rosie O’Donnell.
On Wednesday, Trump mentioned that his administration is considering the possibility of revoking O’Donnell’s citizenship. “As I’ve said before, we are seriously looking into taking away Rosie O’Donnell’s citizenship,” he stated, sharing his thoughts on social media.
This message was paired with an unflattering and seemingly distorted image of O’Donnell. He added, “She’s not a great American and, in my opinion, she shouldn’t be here!”
Trump and O’Donnell have had a long history of public exchanges, and this isn’t the first time he has joked about her citizenship. Earlier on July 12, he remarked, “I am seriously considering taking away her citizenship because Rosie O’Donnell does not represent the best interests of our great nation.” He continued, “She poses a threat to humanity and should be in wonderful Ireland if she feels that way. God bless America!”
O’Donnell made headlines when she left America in early 2025, explaining on TikTok in March that she had moved away with her daughter for political reasons. “We’ll think about coming back when it’s safe and all citizens in America have equal rights,” she said in the video.
The ongoing feud between Trump and O’Donnell dates back to the early days of their time on “The View.” O’Donnell famously called out Trump during a 2006 episode, pointing at his relationships and family dynamics.
As of now, O’Donnell has not publicly responded to Trump’s recent comments.
