Country singer John Rich expressed his appreciation for the current administration’s support in his fight against the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). In an interview, he discussed how the TVA, established by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, often disregards the concerns of local residents. He remarked that, despite public opposition, the TVA continues with its plans, stating, “They come in, take land, and build massive projects,” referencing the situation in his hometown of Cheatham County, Tennessee.

Rich highlighted that the TVA has been sending messages to homeowners, indicating intentions to take their land regardless of their objections, which he feels violates their rights. The TVA, a federally owned entity, is responsible for flood control, electricity, and conservation.

He recounted how the TVA faced backlash after announcing plans to survey properties for new transmission lines, asserting that federal judges authorized them to enter private land for investigations, despite homeowners’ objections.

In a recent development, utility companies indicated that Cheatham County is no longer a viable site for natural gas power plants. Rich commended the Trump administration for being attentive to voter concerns and engaging with issues prevalent in the news and on social media.

He noted that Agriculture Secretary Brook Rollins was taken aback when informed about TVA’s plans to potentially demolish 6,000 acres of farmland in the region. Rich praised her for stepping in and advocating for the local communities, which helped preserve critical resources for several school districts and towns nearby. His advocacy stemmed from conversations with affected residents, which eventually led to their decision to oppose the TVA.

Rich emphasized that the intervention of the administration has rekindled hope among residents who previously felt powerless against the TVA, which had sued over 100 families for not granting access to their properties. He pointed out that many community members struggled to afford legal representation, making the situation even more challenging.

Expressing his discontent with TVA’s actions, he questioned whether such treatment aligned with American values, fueling his desire to take a stand.

In line with this advocacy, Rich announced that his new single focuses on empowering everyday citizens to rise against large corporations. He aims to inspire low- and middle-income individuals, showcasing that they can, indeed, stand up against powerful entities. Reflecting on the Trump administration’s engagement with local issues, he noted the significant progress made in a short time.

Rich shared ongoing communications with the president about the TVA situation, emphasizing the need for changes in the TVA’s governance to respect citizens’ property and constitutional rights. He is determined to continue advocating for these communities, aligning with a broader push for greater accountability from such governmental bodies.
