Trump Criticizes Democrats Over Epstein Scandal

President Trump has once again pointed fingers at the Democrats regarding the Epstein case, ramping up his rhetoric. There was a recent lull in anger over how the administration managed the Epstein Files, but with Congress back in session, lawmakers are reviving interest in the scandal. Trump has labeled it a “Democrat hoax.”

He stated, “The Democrats don’t care about the victims.” He accused them of having connections with Epstein and using his funds without acting against him during his lifetime.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump argued that the Democrats were feigning concern for the victims only after Epstein’s death. “Does anyone really believe it?” he questioned.

Trump maintains that if the Democrats were genuinely concerned about the victims, they would have taken measures long before now. He suggested that the renewed focus on the scandal is simply an attempt to distract from the low approval ratings of his political opponents.

Trump went further, claiming, “This is just another Democrat hoax, similar to Russia, Russia, Russia, intended to shift attention from the success of the Republican administration and the failures of the previous one.”

Meanwhile, bipartisan support for transparency in the Epstein case continues. As soon as Congress reconvened, Republican Representative Thomas Massey initiated a discharge petition to push for a vote on the matter, requiring signatures from 218 members.

As of Thursday, Massey’s petition had gained 215 signatures, including four from Republicans. Notably, Rep. Eric Swalwell expressed intent to sign, leaving just two Republican signatures needed to move forward.

The White House has criticized Massey’s petition, deeming it a “very hostile act” that could deter further Republican support.

Overall, while Trump has been vocal about framing the Epstein scandal as a Democratic issue, there is evident bipartisan traction urging for accountability and transparency.
