Taylor Swift Misses Chiefs Game Amid Engagement Excitement
Interestingly, Taylor Swift didn’t make an appearance this Friday night as anticipated. Her fiancé, Travis Kelce, who plays tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, missed her presence during the team’s season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil.
TMZ confirmed that the pop superstar wouldn’t be in São Paulo for the game.
The game is set to unfold at Arena Corinthians, where the Chiefs will face off against their AFC West rivals.
Swift, who is 35, opted not to travel after celebrating a friend’s 30th birthday in Nashville the weekend before.
Sources noted that she wouldn’t be joining Kelce for this match. Interestingly, Brittany Mahomes, wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, got a photo with Swift at a recent dinner, shared in her Instagram stories.
Just recently, Swift and Kelce revealed their engagement on Instagram after dating for about two years. Their playful announcement included a caption that read, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are married,” referencing a long-standing joke linked to Kelce.
The engagement ring, featuring an old mine-cut diamond, was custom-designed by a jeweler relative. Swift first showcased the ring when she attended a game at Arrowhead Stadium last Thursday, where her Cincinnati Bearcats faced the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Kelce proposed at his home in Leawood, Kansas. The couple began their romantic journey in 2023, with Swift appearing at her first Chiefs game shortly after they got together.
Despite falling short against the Eagles in the Super Bowl, the Chiefs are gearing up for their next match against the defending champions next Sunday.
