Deportation of Suspected Child Predator Announced
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has confirmed the deportation of a Mexican national accused of serious crimes, including the “advanced rape of minors.” The individual, identified as Omar Alberto Almodovar Mondragon, is 29 years old and was wanted in Sinaloa, Mexico. He was handed over to Mexican officials at the Dennis Deconcini Entry port in Nogales, Arizona, on Thursday.
ICE’s Phoenix Field Office Director, John Cantu, commented, “There is no place in our society for these sleazy child predators. We will continue our mission to ensure public safety and national security by keeping dangerous criminals out of our communities.” The agency stated that Almodovar Mondragon entered the U.S. on a visitor visa in November 2019 but overstayed it by almost five years.
This case coincides with another recent deportation. ICE also announced the removal of a suspect residing illegally in Stamford, Connecticut, who is accused of being a child rapist.
In a separate operation, ICE officials arrested Albert George Davis, 59, on August 21. Davis was deported to Jamaica for allegedly raping a child in 2020. Reports indicate he fled to Connecticut to escape prosecution.
David Wesling, Associate Field Office Director of ICE Boston, remarked that Davis had been hiding in the community and would now have to face justice in Jamaica. Under their leadership, ICE aims to prioritize public safety by actively seeking out and removing foreign criminals from local communities.
