A look at Aryna Sabalenka's festive US Open celebrations

After taking her second consecutive title at the US Open, Aryna Sabalenka celebrated wildly in her locker room on Saturday.

Moments after defeating American Amanda Anisimova with a score of 6-3, 7-6 (7) at Arthur Ashe Stadium, the Belarusian tennis player was seen spraying Moet & Chandon champagne from a bottle provided by her team.

“This setup is unbelievable, everyone! At least you managed to keep the locker room tidy, right?” the 27-year-old commented, directing her words humorously at the covered locker.

In a lively scene, the world’s top-ranked player, who faced Jessica Pegra in last year’s US Open Finals, was captured celebrating with her team, playfully pouring champagne over the Championship trophy.

Earlier in the week, Sabalenka secured her spot in the finals by defeating 31-year-old Pegra in the semi-finals, setting the stage for a rematch against New Jersey’s Anisimova.

Sabalenka was knocked out by Anisimova during the All-England Club semi-finals in July, a surprise defeat that saw Iga Swiatek take home the Wimbledon title.

After the match, Anisimova praised Sabalenka, saying, “She came out strong and played fantastic tennis right from the beginning. She’s number one for a reason, and she showcased that today. I give her full credit.”

Sabalenka continued the celebration in a post-match press conference, even bringing a bottle of champagne to the podium.

“I think this victory means more than my previous finals losses this season. It feels different; it’s as if I overcame a lot to achieve this.” She added, “The hard work we put in truly deserved a Grand Slam title this year.”

This victory marks Sabalenka’s fourth Grand Slam title, following her wins at the 2023 and 2024 Australian Opens, as well as her earlier success in the 2024 US Open.
