Cornhuskers’ Lindenmeyer Proposes After Historic Victory

On a memorable Saturday night, Nebraska Cornhuskers tight end Luke Lindenmeyer celebrated a significant personal achievement following his team’s impressive 68-0 win against the Akron Zips. It was a big moment, especially since he caught his first career touchdown pass from quarterback Dylan Raiola in the second quarter.

Feeling the excitement, Lindenmeyer chose to make the evening even more special. After the game, he knelt down in front of his girlfriend, Kailyn Strovich, who is part of the Nebraska dance team, and proposed. Fortunately, she said “Yes.” The Cornhuskers’ social media team captured the heartfelt moment and shared it widely.

“I couldn’t think of a better place to do that. I want to be with you for the rest of my life, to say I love you,” he expressed to Strovich. Cheers from his teammates filled the air as they witnessed this joyful occasion. After placing the ring on her finger, they shared a kiss, sealing the moment beautifully.

As for the game, it was a banner night for Lindenmeyer and the team overall. Raiola threw for an astonishing 364 yards and four touchdowns. This performance marked the highest score for the Cornhuskers since 2007 and they racked up a total of 728 yards for the match, a record since 2014.

“It’s a new style of Nebraska football,” Raiola remarked. “We’re a first-half team, and we intend to keep our momentum without slowing down. We aimed to involve as many players as we could in such a standout performance.”

Lindenmeyer concluded the game with three catches totaling 44 yards, rounding out what seemed to be a whirlwind of emotions for both him and the team. It was, without a doubt, a night filled with cherry blossoms and joy for the Cornhuskers.
