Final Alert: Hostage Agreement or Consequences

Trump Issues Final Warning to Hamas Over Hostage Trade

On Sunday, former President Donald Trump cautioned Hamas that they have one last opportunity to engage in a hostage exchange.

While specific outcomes weren’t detailed, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are reportedly ready to strike Gaza City’s remaining Hamas stronghold.

In a post shared on the Society of Truth, Trump expressed:

“Everyone wants a solution for the hostages. The war needs to come to an end! The Israelis have accepted my conditions. Now it’s time for Hamas to do the same. I’ve warned them about the repercussions of not complying. This is my final warning! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
— Donald J. Trump, former President of the United States

Earlier this weekend, the Trump administration presented a last-minute proposal for a hostage deal to Hamas. This was relayed by the special envoy, Steve Witkoff, through former intermediary columnist Garshom Baskin.

Details of the proposed deal remain vague; however, it appears to involve the release of all 48 Israeli hostages, with 20 of them potentially still alive.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed criticisms from both domestic and international fronts regarding Israel’s military actions. He emphasized their commitment to achieving victory over Hamas despite external perceptions.

“We must decide between defeating our enemy and managing negative narratives against us. In our case, we choose to prioritize victory. We won’t let ourselves be undermined while trying to maintain a good image globally. Victory is our aim,” Netanyahu stated.

Update: It was reported on Sunday evening that Hamas indicated a willingness to negotiate. They seem to be proposing terms that would involve extensive prisoner releases, potentially including all Palestinian detainees in Israeli custody, although not limited to those taken as hostages. They also mentioned a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, potentially including any buffer zones established by Israel, contingent upon the conclusion of the conflict.

Hamas’s message did not specifically address disarmament or demand an end to Israeli governance.

It’s unclear if Hamas’s reaction aligns with Trump’s expectations, as it seems aimed at fostering a consensus that might pressure Israel to hold off on any military escalations.
