Sinaloa Cartel's Terror Network Uncovered in Europe — Poland Confiscates 3 Tons of Drug Chemicals

Last week, Polish authorities, backed by counterterrorism units, detained three individuals, including two chemists linked to the notorious Sinaloa cartel from Mexico, during a raid on a clandestine lab near the German border. This bust highlights the cartel’s expanding global presence and its classification as a foreign terrorist organization by U.S. officials. Over 300 liters of methamphetamine and three tons of precursor chemicals were confiscated.

The operation occurred in a rural area of Poland close to the German border. Polish police, in collaboration with anti-terrorist personnel, targeted a laboratory suspected of producing significant amounts of methamphetamine and other synthetic drugs. According to the Polish Central Bureau of Investigation (CBSP), authorities seized 300 liters of methamphetamine alongside three tons of substances necessary for synthesizing drugs.

During the raid, they arrested a Polish national along with two Mexican citizens who were managing the chemical processes involved in the drug manufacturing. Officials have stated that the two Mexican individuals are associated with the Sinaloa Cartel, noted as “one of North America’s largest cartels.”

Charges against the arrested individuals include organized crime and drug production. This incident echoes similar arrests happening not just in Europe but also in Canada and Australia, where law enforcement is apprehending Mexican drug cartel operatives active in those regions. These operatives not only traffick drugs internationally but also establish production labs outside of Mexico and the U.S.

As reported, Mexican drug cartels are increasingly setting up labs in isolated areas in Canada. Previously, in July, reports emerged concerning the arrest of Canadian gangs linked to a network that connected Canadian cartels with various criminal organizations in Australia and Turkey.

In November, law enforcement in Canada uncovered one of the largest drug production facilities in the nation’s history, where authorities seized significant quantities of drugs, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and MDMA, along with a substantial arsenal of weapons and explosives.
