Why this murder signifies the end for Black Lives Matter

In light of recent events, mainstream media and some progressive politicians have shown sympathy for the murderer involved in the case of Iryna Zarutska, who had targeted Ukrainian refugees. Media personality Jason Whitlock thinks this reveals a lot about how people in America truly feel.

Whitlock, drawing on his experience with social media and its influence on movements like Black Lives Matter, expressed concerns that this incident could signal a deeper issue for black culture, despite the lack of coverage from traditional media.

“It’s like this situation does irreversible damage to the perception of black individuals. People are sharing videos and stats about crime involving black and white individuals, and honestly, it’s not shocking,” he noted.

I think it’s crucial to remember that the narrative around black men often emphasizes fear of violence from white police officers, but maybe Americans are starting to see there’s more to that story.

Whitlock continues, “Eventually, the evidence shows that black criminals are more often involved in harming white victims, and we have far more footage of white officers defending themselves against assault from black suspects.”

He raises an uncomfortable question: when will those who champion Black Lives Matter admit that some issues have resulted in negative repercussions for the reputation of black people? “Our standing is at a historic low, and it feels like the broader black movement has only contributed to this growing tribalism that pushes us further apart,” he continued.
