50 best PPR tight ends for fantasy football in Week 2

The first week of the fantasy football season is behind us, and, unsurprisingly, tight ends have been quite the headache. None managed to score a touchdown while surpassing 50 receiving yards. Dalton Kincaid stands out as the top tight end in standard leagues, with 76 yards, but he only caught four of his four targets for 48 yards in PPR leagues.

Among the tight ends this week, Johnson with his 11 targets was definitely more intriguing than Kincaid. While the usual star players performed as expected, injuries and a lack of touchdowns hindered their effectiveness. Both George Kittle and Brock Bowers are dealing with injuries, leaving a significant gap among the top tight ends.

Rookie Tyler Warren made a decent impression in his first game, snagging 7 of 9 targets for 76 yards. Daniel Jones’s tendency for checkdowns seemed to benefit the rookie well.

Another rookie, Harold Fanin Jr., also made waves with the Bengals in Cleveland. He caught 7 of 9 targets for 63 yards, placing him as TE6 in PPR formats. If Kittle ends up sidelined, he could be a good option for fantasy players.

Kittle is dealing with a hamstring injury that will keep him out for a minimum of four weeks as he was on the PUP list. This is a significant setback for those who drafted him and affects the 49ers’ offense as well. Expect Christian McCaffrey to see an increase in targets in his absence.

Bowers had to exit the game against the Raiders due to a knee issue. He couldn’t return, but the injury doesn’t seem serious, according to reports. Still, his status moving forward is something to keep an eye on.

Engram was also knocked out of his match against the Titans because of a calf injury. We’re still awaiting updates on how serious it is, but if he’s out, Adam Trautman could see a boost in fantasy relevance.

Hunter Henry, Dolphin Patriot

Henry had a solid game, finishing with 66 yards on 4 receptions out of 4 targets in a week one loss to the Ravens. His eight targets came as a team high, and his playing time was encouraging with 71 snaps. Considering the struggling Dolphins defense this week, he looks like a good streaming option.

Brenton Strange, Bengals’ Jaguar

Strange started off strong in week two but faded as the game went on. He caught all four of his targets for 59 yards against a porous defense, making him someone to watch as the season unfolds.
