Harris describes Biden's re-election effort as 'recklessness' in her new book '107 Days'

Kamala Harris Reflects on Biden’s Reelection in New Book

In her upcoming book, “107 Days,” former Vice President Kamala Harris describes the decision to let President Joe Biden run for reelection as reckless. She expresses this sentiment while looking back on her brief presidential bid from a distance.

Harris shares her thoughts, stating, “It’s Joe and Jill’s decision,” but adds that it feels like everyone was under some kind of spell. In this first excerpt from her much-anticipated book, which will be released soon, she acknowledges that Biden has faced challenges and at times felt scapegoated by his administration. Notably, she admits she should have considered advising him against running again.

During her own presidential campaign, Harris walked a delicate line. She aimed to support Biden while also distinguishing herself from his controversial past. Reflecting on her decisions, she hints that there are things she wishes she would have handled differently, but she remains vague on specifics.

In a recent conversation with Fox News, Harris emphasized that her presidency would not merely continue Biden’s legacy. She noted, “Of all the people in the White House, I was in the worst position to suggest he not run.” She felt that any advice against his candidacy could be perceived as self-serving.

Harris reasoned that staying silent was easier, convincing herself that the American public had chosen Biden in past elections, believing he might have the capability to challenge Donald Trump again.

While she expresses loyalty to Biden, she also emphasizes her commitment to her country. In her book, she portrays loyalty within the White House as a complex dynamic. Harris recounts instances where her loyalty has been tested but maintains that the environment among Biden’s inner circle is generally positive.

She alludes to the idea that some see her success as a threat to Biden, expressing frustration that his team didn’t fully grasp the potential for collaboration. Harris’ candid observations shed light on the intricate relationship between loyalty, ambition, and governance within the Biden administration.

Responses from Biden’s office were not immediately available regarding Harris’ claims.
