Fox News Announces New Weekend Program
Fox News revealed on Wednesday that Peter Doocy, a White House correspondent for the network, will be co-hosting a new weekend show starting Sunday.
Titled “The Sunday Briefing,” the program is set to launch on September 21st. Doocy will be sharing hosting duties with fellow White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich. They will each take turns hosting solo segments from 11 AM to 12 PM Eastern time.
In a post on X, Doocy expressed confidence that the new program will be essential viewing. He remarked, “The White House briefing has become a must-see television in the last few years, and so is the Sunday briefing now. See you for a week from 11 AM on Sunday!”
The Sunday Briefing “attends all aspects of the White House Beat,” covering both domestic and international issues related to President Trump, according to a press release.
Additionally, former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany will host a two-hour program called “Saturday America,” airing from 10 AM to 12 PM. Grif Jenkins will co-host “Fox & Friends Weekend,” while Howie Kurtz steps down from his role on “Mediabuzz” to become a political media analyst.
The press release noted that Tomi Lahren and Johnny Joey Jones will join as co-hosts for “The Big Weekend Show,” which will now expand to three hours on both Saturday and Sunday.
Jay Wallace, president and editor-in-chief of Fox News Media, stated that this weekend overhaul aims to deliver “unparalleled depth and expertise” to viewers. He commented, “As we expand and innovate our weekend programming, we are proud to bring unparalleled coverage that strengthens Fox News media as a leader in both news and opinion content.”
Doocy gained attention for his tough questioning of former President Biden’s administration, even having a notable exchange where Biden called him a “silly son of a bitch” over a question about inflation and elections. Later, Biden reached out to Doocy to clarify that his remarks were not personal.
