Teen Arrested for Gun Charges in Seattle Appeared Fixated on School Shooters

Seattle Teen Arrested on Firearms Charges

A 13-year-old boy in Seattle was taken into custody on Saturday morning for firearms-related offenses. Though his identity remains undisclosed, the arrest occurred around 1 AM after authorities received tips about the juvenile’s activities.

When deputies from Pierce County and a SWAT team searched his home, they discovered 23 firearms and multiple boxes of ammunition. Alarmingly, the weapons were not secured and were even mounted on the wall, making it easy for a youth to access them.

Evidence from the boy’s bedroom suggested a troubling fascination with previous school shooters. Inside, investigators found images and writings that imitated those notorious individuals. Additionally, the teen’s social media activity indicated he had been displaying weapons and dressing in a similar fashion to earlier school shooters.

In one concerning social media post, the boy reportedly said, “When I turn 21, I’m going to kill people.” In another, he mentioned that “it’s over! My time is pretty much [here].” He also claimed to have a list of individuals he intended to target. This alarming information came to light thanks to a tipster who alerted the authorities about the threats.

The juvenile faces charges of illegal firearm possession and making threats. He has pleaded not guilty to five charges, four of which are felonies, and is to remain in custody.

Pierce County Sheriff Deputy Carly Cuppett commented on the situation, emphasizing that it seemed imminent a tragic event could occur if no action was taken. He indicated that the teen appeared prepared to carry out an act of mass violence, though it remains unclear who his specific targets were.

As the investigation continues, attention is turning to whether the teen’s parents will be held accountable for the unsafe storage of firearms in their home. Under Washington State law, individuals under 18 usually cannot own guns unless they’re participating in specific activities, such as hunting or a firearm safety course. Additionally, improper storage of firearms can also lead to legal consequences.

The teenager’s next pretrial hearing is scheduled for September 17, with a custody review on September 22.
