A Reflective Day in American History
It feels like a particularly somber day in the nation. There are moments in history that etch themselves into our memories—September 11th is one of those days for many. Alongside that, many are grappling with the recent murder of Charlie Kirk, an event that weighs heavily for countless Americans.
During these pivotal times, we must contemplate our responses and determine our future course. History is a guide—often pointing us toward the principled choices we should take.
Today marks 24 years since that tragic September day when nearly 3,000 lives were lost. The aftermath was palpable and disconcerting; everyone felt it. As survivors emerged from the ruins, it felt as if our country abruptly pivoted towards a new reality. We could never quite return to what we were. Security levels heightened, anxiety crept in, and uncertainty became a common topic at our dinner tables.
It was a rare instance; our nation faced an attack from foreign extremists on our own soil since Pearl Harbor. The fear and concern were justified, but what followed exemplified the spirit of America. We banded together, confronted the threats, and drew closer to our families while resisting the forces that aimed to tear us apart.
On this 24th anniversary of 9/11, we remember the lives lost, the heroes who emerged, and the enduring strength of the American spirit.
America will always remember.
Just a day before I paused to reflect on the impacts of 9/11, we lost an influential voice in Charlie Kirk due to political motives. For many young Americans seeking answers, Kirk played a crucial role. His straightforward debates resonated with a generation and unnerved some on the left.
Though he’s no longer with us, the movement he fostered must carry on. He stood firmly against wrongdoings, even when it may have been easier to retreat. That’s something we really need to embrace now.
A few days prior, he shared a family photo on social media with the caption, “God, family, country. In that order.” These words resonate deeply. The soul of our nation is at stake, and we have to fight for it. Evil is real, and the spiritual battles are palpable. The weight of this challenge touches us all.
In these challenging times, we ought to cling to what matters most. We must safeguard our families and cherish our nation.
Kirk continually urged us to seek a deeper connection with God. His call wasn’t superficial; he believed that understanding our divine purpose made everything else fall into place more naturally.
He embodied what it meant to be a devoted father and husband. Kirk recognized the importance of family as fundamental to our country’s health. For far too long, traditional family structures have faced challenges and scrutiny. What should be seen as a noble pursuit is often diminished. Kirk valued motherhood as a significant testament to God’s grace. He cherished his wife and advocated passionately for the rights of the unborn. It falls upon us to perpetuate these discussions—our responsibility to continue this legacy is immense.
“I am honored to announce that Charlie Kirk will receive the President’s Medal of Freedom posthumously.” – President Trump
Kirk had his finger on the pulse of the nation. His unwavering love for the country stood as a pivotal force in the political arena. Vice President Vance offered heartfelt appreciation for Kirk’s influence, citing his character and friendships across significant political circles.
“Charlie Kirk was a true friend,” Vance reflected. “You could always count on him.” They shared experiences that spanned joys and losses, discussing politics and life in a camaraderie that people at high levels of government trusted profoundly.
“Charlie’s ability to connect and organize made a direct impact on the administration’s achievements,” Vance added.
A while back, maybe in 2017, I was on Tucker Carlson’s show when someone reached out to compliment my work. That someone was Charlie Kirk, and thus began a lasting friendship.
Kirk did much of this quietly—behind the scenes. He wasn’t one to boast about his connections unlike many others in the political arena.
As we remember today, our mission is clear. We must take up the flame he lit and sustain his movement. It’s not the time to cower in fear. We should pray continuously, love our families, and persist in fighting for this country until the very end.
