The second week of the 2025 NFL season is just around the corner, bringing an NFC showdown with the Washington Commanders visiting the Green Bay Packers. The Packers are favored at home by 3.5 points, and there’s an over/under set at 48.5. Both teams won their openers last Sunday, and now they’re looking to move to 2-0 in this primetime matchup.
Let’s dive into some of the top DFS picks for this Thursday night game.
Josh Jacobs, RB, Packers (Flex $12,400, CPT $18,600)
Jacobs started the season strong, rushing for 66 yards on 19 carries and scoring a touchdown in the team’s 27-13 win. This marked his ninth regular-season game with a touchdown, reinforcing his role as a must-have in DFS lineups, particularly for this matchup.
Deebo Samuel (Flex $10,200, CPT $15,300)
Samuel had an impressive debut for the Commanders last Sunday after being traded in the offseason. He caught seven out of ten targets for 77 yards and added a 19-yard rushing touchdown in their 21-6 win over the Giants, earning 19.1 fantasy points. It seems he’s eager to make an impact, making him a solid potential captain choice in DFS.
Jacory Croskey-Merritt (Flex $8,600, CPT $12,900)
The buzz surrounding JCM during training camp turned out to be well-founded. The rookie took over significant snaps from veteran Austin Ekeler, rushing for 82 yards with 10 carries and scoring a touchdown against the Giants. He might see even more touches moving forward, making him a valuable captain option in lineups.
Zach Ertz (Flex $5,200, CPT $7,800)
Ertz made his Commanders debut last Sunday, recording three receptions for 26 yards. While those numbers aren’t particularly eye-popping, he remains a red zone threat. I think he could be a decent flex option for this matchup.
Tuckercraft (flex $5,000, CPT $7,500)
Similar to Ertz, Kraft found the end zone in the Packers’ opener and will be looking to repeat that success on Thursday night. He was actually second on the team in targets during Week 1 with four, so Jordan Love may well keep looking in his direction.
Romeo Doubs (Flex $4,200, CPT $6,300)
Doubs had two key catches for 68 yards in Green Bay’s season opener, one of which was a notable 48-yarder that set up a touchdown on the next play. With Jayden Reed dealing with foot issues heading into this game, Doubs might see an increase in targets among the Packers’ receiving corps.
