Randy Mahomes, mother of NFL star Patrick Mahomes, recently posted on social media to express her support for Charlie Kirk following his assassination. She shared a message reflecting on Kirk’s recent post, stating, “Resting in heaven.”
The post she shared, originally from Kirk on September 6, included the words, “Jesus will defeat death and you can live.”
The situation surrounding Kirk’s death has prompted a manhunt for the shooter. This tragic event took place at Utah Valley University in Orem around 12:20 PM, where Kirk was addressing a crowd primarily composed of college students.
Police apprehended a suspect early Friday morning. He has been identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson from Utah.
Randy, who is known for her conservative views and ties to former President Donald Trump, isn’t alone in her feelings of sorrow regarding Kirk’s passing. Several other prominent figures in the NFL, like Tim Tebow and Julian Edelman, have also voiced their condolences.
Reports suggest that Robinson’s family had previously reached out to a family friend, who then contacted law enforcement to relay a confession or implication of his involvement in the attack, as mentioned by Utah Governor Spencer Cox at a press conference.
