Assassination of Charlie Kirk Confirmed
Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was reportedly killed on Wednesday by a large crowd at Utah Valley University. Authorities released information on Friday indicating that they are investigating a potential assassin, identified as Tyler Robinson, linked to radical leftist groups in Washington County.
During a press conference, Utah Governor Spencer Cox mentioned that Robinson’s roommate provided messages to investigators, which highlighted odd exchanges implicated in the shooting and offered clues about Robinson’s political views.
One disturbing message reportedly discussed acquiring a rifle, also alluding to Robinson’s supposed fascination with ammunition. An inscription found on a shell casing read, “I noticed the swelling, what is Ou?” which references online memes. Another noted, “A little fascist! Catch!” followed by an arrow—a nod to the video game Helldivers 2. There were also lyrics from the Italian protest song “Bella Ciao,” commonly associated with left-wing movements and the series “Money Heist.” Additionally, another message stated, “If you read this, you’re gay, LMAO.”
When asked about the sculpture, Governor Cox remarked that the message “speaks for itself.” He also noted that Robinson’s family informed authorities that he had grown increasingly political in recent years. It was confirmed that Robinson attended Utah State University briefly in 2021 before dropping out.
At a recent family gathering, Robinson supposedly expressed excitement about Kirk’s visit to UVU, labeling Kirk as someone filled with hate. Just moments before Kirk was shot in the neck from approximately 200 yards away, he posed a question to the audience about the number of mass shooters identifying as transgender over the last decade.
Kirk responded, “Too much,” touching on incidents like the Covenant School shooting in Nashville in March 2023, where a transgender individual killed three children and three adults.
In a subsequent exchange, as attendees pressed him for a count of large-scale shootings, he asked whether gang violence should be included, just before being struck by the fatal shot.
Robinson has since been booked at the Utah County Jail, raising concerns about a potential trend of violent actions linked to radical leftist sentiments. Governor Cox compared this to historical political violence seen in the late 20th century, asking whether this signs the end or beginning of a troubling chapter in the nation’s history.
As issues of political violence continue to emerge, Trump remarked on the need for decisive action against what he characterized as a radical left extremist threat.
