Trump Calls Charlie Kirk Like a “Son”

In a recent interview on “Fox & Friends,” President Donald Trump expressed how much he values Charlie Kirk, describing him as “like a son.” Trump elaborated on the significance of Kirk, who is the founder of Turning Point USA, within the conservative movement.

Trump reminisced about a conversation with a friend who told him, “He’s like a son to you.” This clearly highlights the bond Trump feels with Kirk.

Tragically, Kirk was fatally shot during the opening event of the “America Comeback Tour” at Utah Valley University. He was addressing the audience when the incident occurred.

Following the shooting, Trump suggested that law enforcement may have had a suspect in custody. He remarked, “We think he is,” indicating that authorities had some leads. Later, a press conference confirmed that Tyler Robinson is being considered a suspect in the case.

During the discussion, Trump praised Kirk’s influence on young conservatives, noting how he inspired many through his passionate beliefs. “I’ve never seen a young man or a group connect with a person like he did,” Trump said, emphasizing Kirk’s exceptional outreach efforts across various schools and events.

Trump added, “He really believed in his mission. He loved helping young people.” He also mentioned that he spoke with Kirk’s wife, Erica, after the incident, noting her deep sorrow.

The president affirmed that Kirk’s organization will keep moving forward despite the devastating loss. “He was such a great guy,” Trump said, reflecting on how Kirk’s legacy will continue to grow even in his absence.

In closing, Trump lamented the tragic interruption of Kirk’s voice and impact, stating, “It’s a shame that the voice was stopped.” This sentiment resonates with many who recognized Kirk’s contributions to the conservative dialogue.
