'Dukes of Hazzard' star thinks Charlie Kirk's assassination won't suppress opinions

John Schneider Speaks on Charlie Kirk’s Legacy

John Schneider, known for his role in “Dukes of Hazzard,” believes that the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk won’t silence future conservative voices. In a conversation with Fox News Digital, he expressed that people today are “more loud and proud” than ever, especially younger political activists.

He remarked, “Charlie’s example will be significant. I already see it happening among youth.” Schneider mentioned he’s currently working on a song titled “Charlie’s Voice,” indicating that the late activist’s message will endure.

“I think we’re going to be loud and proud. I hate to think of Charlie as a martyr, but I believe that’s really what he’s become,” Schneider stated.

Continuing on, he emphasized that the discourse sparked by Kirk’s death could foster greater unity and dialogue around disagreements. “I pray,” he said, “that this helps bring people together to at least talk about their differences.” He was quite clear, stating that the notion of living in a world where differing opinions lead to violence is deeply troubling.

Reflecting further, Schneider noted, “This isn’t the America that my father or grandparents fought for. It’s troubling to think that we could move toward silencing political discourse.” He invoked the need for open conversations, asserting that everyone should have the freedom to express their beliefs—without resorting to violence.

Charlie Kirk was assassinated during a speech in Orem, Utah, at the age of 31. His death is viewed by many as a tragedy for the conservative community.

Authorities have arrested a 22-year-old suspect, Tyler Robinson, in connection with Kirk’s death. He faces serious charges and remains in custody pending trial.
