Surveillance Video Yields Insights on Suspect in Charlie Kirk Shooting
Recent surveillance footage reportedly shows a man identifying himself as the assassin of Charlie Kirk, heading towards the Utah Valley University campus shortly before the incident.
The video obtained by TMZ features Tyler Robinson, who appears to be in the same outfit he wore upon arriving at the campus event. The recording, made at 8:07 AM on Wednesday, captures him wearing a maroon t-shirt, light-colored shorts, sunglasses, a baseball cap, and sneakers.
Authorities noted that the suspect drove to campus in a gray Dodge Challenger around 8:30 AM.
The footage stands as the first apparent sighting of the suspect prior to the fatal shooting.
Earlier, the FBI released a video showing a distraught shooter on a rooftop of a campus building. This recording depicted the shooter jumping from the structure and fleeing into a nearby neighborhood.
Law enforcement suspects that the individual may have changed clothing before the shooting, as he was later seen in a black t-shirt featuring an American flag.
The TMZ video also seems to show the suspect moving quietly through nearby areas following the shooting.
Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin was identified after the tragic shooting of this prominent conservative figure in Utah.
The footage depicts him in dark attire, moving swiftly but without drawing attention. However, it remains unconfirmed whether this individual is indeed the gunman.
The shootings sparked a large-scale manhunt across Utah County, prompting local residents to evacuate.
More than 36 hours later, authorities located and arrested the suspected shooter late Thursday night.
He has been booked into prison without bail on preliminary charges that include first-degree murder, felony discharge of firearms, and obstruction of justice. Official charges are still forthcoming.
