Javier Bardem Wears a Keffiyeh and Promises He Will Not Collaborate with Any Company that Backs Israel

Javier Bardem Refuses Work with Companies Supporting Israel

Actor Javier Bardem, known for his Academy Award-winning performances, has stated he won’t collaborate with any companies that support Israel amidst the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Bardem expressed his views while wearing a Keffiyeh during an interview on the Emmy Awards red carpet.

When asked by a reporter what he would do if he encountered a company conducting business with Israel, Bardem replied firmly, “I won’t work.” He elaborated, saying, “I can’t align myself with anyone who justifies or supports genocide. It’s that simple. In this industry, we need to take a stand.”

Last week, Bardem joined over 1,000 celebrities from Hollywood and the broader film industry who have pledged to boycott the Israeli film sector due to the situation in Gaza. This pledge was reported by various sources, highlighting a significant movement among industry figures.

The report mentioned that members from multiple regions—including Europe, the UK, and the US—have committed to this initiative organized by a group called Palestinian Film Workers (FWFPs).

The FWFP is assessing instances where the Israeli film industry has been accused of complicity in acts termed as genocide in Gaza, focusing on partnerships that might align with governmental actions. Signers of the pledge include notable names such as Yorgos Lanthimos, Ava DuVernay, and Mark Ruffalo, among many others.
