‘Dismantle ICE and Support Palestine’: ‘Hacks’ Actress Hannah Einbinder Speaks Out on Stage

Hannah Einbinder’s Emmy Acceptance Speech Takes a Political Turn

Hannah Einbinder celebrated her first Emmy win on September 15, expressing surprise at the recognition as she took the stage. In her acceptance speech, she began by thanking the cast and crew for their contributions, but then diverted into personal political statements.

“Finally, I just want to go to birds, say f*ck ice cream and free Palestine!” Einbinder declared, clearly using the moment to voice her beliefs.

While her initial remarks were heartfelt, the shift in tone was noticeable as she introduced her views. There seemed to be an awareness on her part that such comments could provoke a mixed reaction from the audience.

Following the awards ceremony, she elaborated on her speech in the press room. “It’s a very close matter to my heart,” she explained, referring to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. She shared that she has friends in Gaza who work as frontline workers, helping pregnant women and children.

Further emphasizing her perspective, Einbinder remarked, “Our religion and our culture are such a very important and long-standing institution that it is truly separate from this truly nationalist nation. I feel it is my duty as a Jew to distinguish Jews from the Israeli state.”
