Officer awarded for lifetime achievement by Biden faces allegations of domestic violence: court documents

An influencer police officer, recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award from former President Joe Biden, has been arrested for domestic battery.

The arrest report indicates that this officer, who boasts over 5 million social media followers, was booked after a dispute with his wife late Saturday night. The details were reported by the Arkansas Democrat Gazette.

At 27, this officer, well-known for his friendly demeanor and community engagement, was being held at the Pulaski County Jail during a holiday.

According to the arrest details, upon the police’s arrival at their home, the officer’s wife claimed that he had struck her on the side of her breast. Minor injuries were reportedly visible.

Norman contends that he was merely defending himself against his wife’s actions during the argument, according to reports.

He now faces charges of third-degree domestic battery.

The administrator of Norman’s Facebook page urged followers to avoid jumping to conclusions.

He expressed his frustration about not having immediate answers, reminding everyone that thorough transparency often takes time. He emphasized the need to wait for all the facts before making judgments.

Norman has been a prominent figure in the Arkansas community, known for his community policing efforts and charitable work for those in need.

Following the conviction of former officer Derek Chauvin in the George Floyd case, Norman shared his vision saying, “The ultimate goal is for the police department and the community to become families.”

He believes it’s crucial for individuals in the community to see officers as people, stressing that it’s not just about the badge but the heart behind it.

In November 2021, he received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to volunteer service and law enforcement.
