At the White House

Possible TikTok Deal!

There seems to be a new agreement between the Trump administration and China, suggesting TikTok will continue to operate in the U.S.

President Trump shared a post on social media this morning, claiming, “A deal has been reached for a company that young people really wanted to keep. They’ll be thrilled!”

Why does it matter? Trump suggested yesterday that while he might allow the deal, it’s not his top priority. He jokingly mentioned, “I’ll perish if that happens,” which is a bit dramatic, isn’t it?

Current status: Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bescent, noted that they have a framework in place. Discussions are set to take place on Friday between President Trump and President Xi Jinping to finalize this.

Context: Congress mandated that TikTok’s Chinese parent company sell its stake in the app, or it would be banned. Initially, a ban was supposed to start in January, but Trump has delayed it while negotiating.

Well, Trump’s ceasefire was brief.

President Trump is ramping up pressure on D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser after her local police department hinted at stopping cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), particularly following the end of Trump’s 30-day federal takeover.

He even hinted at declaring a national emergency in D.C., posting late at night about Bowser and mentioning that they are “under pressure from radical left Democrats.” If you think about it, just a couple of weeks ago, he was praising her for supporting federal initiatives.

🚓 Charlie Kirk’s Memorial

Thousands Expected for Kirk’s Funeral:

The impact of Charlie Kirk’s assassination is being felt nationwide, with details emerging about the suspect.

Funeral details: Kirk’s service is scheduled for September 21st at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and it’s anticipated that many from the White House and right-wing circles, including President Trump, will attend.

Vice President Vance is hosting “The Charlie Kirk Show” as a tribute to his friend. There’s also a vigil being led by Speaker Mike Johnson in the U.S. Capitol.

Memorable moments: Kirk’s wife, Erica Kirk, shared an emotional photo at his casket, promising to continue his work.

Investigation Update:

The suspect, Tyler Robinson, is reportedly not cooperating with investigators. A note was discovered indicating a troubling obsession with Kirk.

Meanwhile, discussions around political violence are intensifying. Many lawmakers are anxious, questioning the fallout from Kirk’s murder, which adds to a growing pattern of politically motivated violence in recent years.

Jerome Powell’s Decision Week:

The Federal Reserve will meet this week to evaluate interest rates. Trump has openly expressed his hopes for a “substantial cut” to benefit the economy, which he feels is important.

  • The Democratic National Committee has begun a week-long voter registration effort targeted at the 2026 midterms.
  • Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted during a visit to Israel that a diplomatic solution regarding the Gaza conflict may not be feasible.
