President Trump recently addressed the tragic circumstances surrounding the suspected assassination of Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA. He mentioned a future memorial service for Kirk, suggesting that the shooter could have become influenced by extreme left-wing content found online.
While speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump shared insights about the alleged perpetrator’s background, indicating that this individual, who appeared to have come from a supportive family and neighborhood, seemed to have radicalized quite rapidly through online exposure to extremism.
Trump stated, “He had amazing parents…something happened to him over a rather short period of time. He appears to be radicalized on the internet, radical to the left.”
The president confirmed his plans to attend Kirk’s memorial on Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, a venue that can seat over 63,000 people, suggesting it would likely reach capacity. “It’s going to get bigger,” he remarked, expressing his intention to speak, saying, “I knew him very well. He was a great guy.”
Furthermore, Trump praised Erica Kirk, calling her “a tremendous” person, and noted the rapid growth of Turning Point USA, which received over 37,000 requests for new campus branches within just 48 hours of Kirk’s death.
Reflecting on their last interaction, Trump recalled being invited to speak at an event by conservative activists in their final moments. He expressed his admiration for Kirk, asserting, “He didn’t deserve this. Trust me.”
When a reporter inquired about Rep. Ilhan Omar’s comments regarding Kirk, Trump didn’t hold back, labeling her remarks as “disgusting” and criticized her character. “I think she’s a dishonorable person,” he added.
The memorial will open its doors at 8 AM local time, kicking off the program at 11 AM. Interested attendees can register online, and it’s expected to be a significant event.
