Patricia Crowley Passes Away at 91
Actress Patricia Crowley, known for her appearances in popular 1960s sitcoms like “Don’t The Daisies” and “Dynasty,” has died at the age of 91.
The announcement came from her son, John Fook Stratt, who is the executive VP at Sony Pictures Entertainment Management and Operations.
Crowley enjoyed a remarkable six-decade career on screen but passed away from natural causes in Los Angeles.
Among her many impressive credits, her most recognized role was likely that of Joan Nash on “Don’t The Daisies,” which aired from 1965 to 1967.
In this series, she played the wife of Jim Nash, portrayed by Mark Miller, together raising their four sons.
She also made appearances in shows like “Hawaii 5-0” and “Columbo” during that time.
In “Dynasty,” Crowley portrayed Emily Fallmont in a recurring role, appearing in ten episodes in 1986. Her character was the wife of Senator Buck Fallmont and the mother of Clay and Burt.
Additionally, she featured in 65 episodes of “Generation” as Rebecca Whitmore from 1989 to 1990 and starred as Mary Scanlon in 251 episodes of “Port Charles” between 1997 and 2003. In 2005, she guest-starred on “The Bold and the Beautiful” as Natalie DeWitt.
In 1954, she received a Golden Globe as New Star of the Year for her performances in “Eternal Woman” and “Money From Home.”
Crowley leaves behind her husband, Andy Friendly, whom she married in 1986.
Prior to that, she was married to sports and entertainment lawyer Ed Fuchstratt, with whom she had two children, John and Unhook Strutton Ocean. She also had a younger sister, singer Anne Crowley.
Born on September 17, 1933, in Oliphant, Pennsylvania, Crowley came from a working-class background. She followed in her sister’s footsteps to pursue a career in the arts, joining the chorus in “Oklahoma!” on Broadway.
During her high school years in New York, she starred in the Broadway production of “Southern Exposure.”
Crowley’s last on-screen role was in the 2012 film “Mont Reve.”
She is survived by her husband, son, daughter, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
