Call for Hulk Hogan’s Recognition at Emmy Awards

The ex-wife of the late Hulk Hogan is advocating for the Emmy Awards to air on Sunday, following the exclusion of WWE legends from the “In Memoriam” segment.

Linda Hogan, who was married to Hulk for 26 years and shares two children with him, suggested that the omission might relate to the wrestler’s political affiliations—particularly his support for Donald Trump during the early days of the 2024 presidential race. “I can’t prove that,” she said. “That’s just a guess, but they should have given him a name!”

Hulk, whose real name was Terry Borea, passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 71. A year prior, he had made headlines by speaking at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, famously tearing his shirt to show off another shirt that supported Trump.

Interestingly, Hogan had previously been an Obama supporter, but he faced backlash when Obama used his theme song at a White House Correspondents’ Dinner in 2011.

Linda remarked, “The top time he came to wrestling lol… [Hulk] had the highest ratings on NBC and beat all other competitions for those times!” She also mentioned a past appearance of his at “Monday Night Raw” in Los Angeles, where he was received with boos.

Though Hogan was featured in an online segment of the Emmy’s “In Memoriam,” Linda expressed uncertainty as to why he was left out of the televised version. “I really can’t tell you why they left him… It’s just a guess given the way he was treated in his last appearance in LA,” she reflected.

Hogan’s cause of death, according to records from the Pinellas County Forensic Center, was a heart attack. After his passing, Linda shared her grief on social media, stating, “I was crying all day. It’s finality. It’s just shocking. We spent many years together. He’d known him since he was 28. I love him. I love him. It’s so sad.” The couple was married from 1983 until 2009.
