Jaime Lee Curtis Reacts to Charlie Kirk’s Assassination

Jaime Lee Curtis expressed her sorrow over the assassination of Charlie Kirk during a recent appearance on the “Marc Maron With WTF” podcast. Her emotions surged as she discussed Kirk’s death, stating it signifies a troubling “lack of humanity” in today’s society.

“I want to share something that’s been weighing on my heart,” Curtis said. “Charlie Kirk was killed just two days ago.” After being corrected by Maron regarding Kirk’s name, Curtis added, “My apologies, I meant Kirk. His strong beliefs are what I remembered.”

Curtis, visibly emotional, admitted, “Honestly, I didn’t agree with him on most of what he expressed. Yet, I see him as a man of faith—someone who was, after all, a father and a husband.”

She recorded this episode shortly after the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, which added depth to her reflections on the psychological toll of witnessing such violent events, like Kirk’s assassination and the Twin Towers tragedy. “We’re constantly bombarded by these images, yet we don’t fully grasp their lasting impact,” she remarked. “What does it do to us? I think we’ve become numb to it.”

Interestingly, Curtis also shared that she had not seen the violent footage of Kirk’s murder, illustrating her reluctance to confront such horrors directly. Country singer Gavin Adcock also weighed in, suggesting that Kirk’s death might inspire a wider awakening among people.

Adcock talked about paying tribute to Kirk at his concerts shortly after the news broke, expressing how important it was for him to honor Kirk’s memory. It seems that the assassination stirred something in many, inspiring calls for humanity and compassion. “At my shows, the crowd was chanting Kirk’s name. It’s about showing our support for those who live with faith,” he noted.

Arnold Schwarzenegger also voiced his heartbreak over Kirk’s death, criticizing the current political climate. He used social media to call for a return to compassion, stating, “This is a concerning tragedy that might push everyone to reconnect with their humanity.” In essence, this incident has sparked broader discussions about the state of society and the need for a deeper understanding of each other.
