Ellen DeGeneres Faces Allegations Following Car Accident

Ellen DeGeneres is reportedly facing legal action after a woman accused her of causing a car accident in Santa Barbara County. A complaint obtained notes that the plaintiff claims DeGeneres “T-boned” her vehicle at a four-way stop intersection.

The lawsuit states that DeGeneres’ “negligence” led to the plaintiff suffering “serious injuries.” This complaint has been filed in Los Angeles County Court. Interestingly, there are also new allegations surfacing from former employees about DeGeneres’ behavior during her time as a talk show host.

According to the complaint dated October 16, 2023, the plaintiff was driving a Tesla and had stopped at a stop sign on Evans Avenue, close to the intersection of Ortega Hill Road. She made sure it was clear before proceeding through the intersection, but then a vehicle, driven by DeGeneres, struck hers from the right.

The complaint asserts that DeGeneres failed to stop at the stop sign before entering the intersection.

The woman’s attorney emphasized that DeGeneres’ conduct fell short of the standard expected from a reasonable driver, asserting that her actions significantly contributed to the accident. The allegations indicate the plaintiff has incurred wage losses, medical expenses, and emotional distress as a result.

Recent criticism of DeGeneres has emerged regarding claims of a toxic work environment during her long-running show. Just last month, a former photographer accused her of fostering hostility and instilling fear among the staff, adversely affecting their personal commitments.

Observations from disgruntled staff members point to a perceived negative attitude from DeGeneres, especially toward male employees. One ex-employee even described her demeanor as akin to “the queen looking for her next execution,” suggesting a harsh management style.
