Sen. Rick Scott Proposes a Resolution to Designate October 14, 2025, as 'National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk'

Resolution Announced for “Charlie Kirk’s Anniversary National Day”

On Tuesday, Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) and Jimmy Patronis (R-FL) revealed a resolution designating October 14, 2025, as “Charlie Kirk’s Anniversary National Day.” This announcement came shortly after the Turning Point USA founder was tragically murdered while speaking at a lecture at Utah Valley University. Notably, this date would have marked Kirk’s 32nd birthday.

In his statement, Scott referred to Kirk as a “magnetic leader” and a personal friend, emphasizing his influence as a devoted father and husband. He noted, “Charlie loved our country and its founding principles, believing in the beauty of faith, family, ideas, and open discussions. He lived with purpose and strength, never shying away from tough conversations about our nation.”

Scott underscored Kirk’s desire for Americans to embrace their ideals, engage in ongoing debates, and maintain hope and courage while looking to God for guidance.

“We are proud to lead this effort to celebrate Charlie’s legacy as a patriot on what would have been his 32nd birthday,” the Florida senator added.

Similarly, Rep. Patronis introduced a comparable resolution in the U.S. House, describing Kirk as a “fearless warrior for free speech, faith, and the principles that make America great.” He highlighted Kirk’s role in empowering young people to express their values and shape the nation’s future, while also reminding everyone of the importance of free speech.

This resolution surfaces during a time when others seek ways to honor Kirk’s contributions. For instance, New College in Florida is advocating for a statue to commemorate his legacy and significant achievements.
