King Charles hosts Trump and Melania at Windsor Castle for a formal visit

Trump’s Royal Welcome at Windsor Castle

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are set to receive a grand reception from King Charles III upon their arrival at Windsor Castle on Tuesday evening.

The events on Wednesday will kick off with Trump, Melania, and a group of US officials participating in a carriage procession alongside the King, the Queen, and other royal family members. Before they arrive, hundreds of staff members have been preparing the castle for what is expected to be a proper royal affair.

Trump will ride in the main carriage with King Charles, while Melania will join the Queen in a subsequent carriage. Several officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent, are also part of the procession.

Before traveling to London, Trump expressed his gratitude for the “great honor” of being hosted by his “friends” at Windsor Castle during his second state visit.

Security Preparations for the Visit

British police have implemented extensive drone operations around Windsor Castle in anticipation of Trump’s visit.

“My relationship is very good with the UK, and Charles is my friend who is the king now,” Trump remarked to reporters. “This is the first time this has happened in a place where someone has been respected twice, so that’s a great honor,” he added, suggesting that Windsor Castle is the pinnacle of royal venues.

He also mentioned, “It’s mainly about being with Charles and Camilla. They’ve been my friends for a long time, long before he became king, and it’s an honor to be here with him.” There’s a sense of pride in his words, as if he’s genuinely excited about the connection.

Exclusive Banquet Plans

The highlight of the visit will be a lavish banquet at St. George’s Hall, which can seat around 160 guests and require five days to arrange over 4,000 pieces of silverware that date back two centuries.

This visit occurs amidst ongoing trade negotiations between the U.S. and the UK, although it hasn’t been indicated that a deal would be finalized during this time.

Trump is the first US president to be invited for two state visits by British monarchs, having visited with Melania in 2019 during his first term.
