Trump Administration Targets Left-Wing Extremism
On Monday, President Donald Trump indicated that his administration is preparing to take firm action against violent left-wing extremists and the organizations that support them.
Shortly after Trump made this announcement, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller stated on a show that the administration would leverage all resources available within the Department of Homeland Security to “identify, disrupt, dismantle, and destroy these networks” with the aim of making America safer for its citizens.
“This is something we can win,” Miller emphasized.
A report from the Capital Research Center might offer assistance in this task by outlining connections within nonprofit fundraising networks.
The 95-page document, initially obtained by Blaze Media, reveals that George Soros’ Open Society Foundations have allocated tens of millions of dollars to a US-based organization linked to actions categorized by the FBI as domestic terrorism. Additionally, it points to foreign ties linked to officially designated terrorist organizations.
Ryan Mauro, a counterterrorism expert at the Capital Research Center, expressed on “The Glenn Beck Program” that the findings were “shocking” and indicated a significant starting point for a counteroffensive.
The research indicates over $23 million has been funneled to seven groups directly accused of supporting domestic terrorism, while around $50 million has gone to 41 groups with known terrorist affiliations. Additionally, $10 million was directed to five nonprofits identified as terrorist entities or associated with pro-terrorist organizations.
Blaze News has reached out to Open Society Foundations for comments regarding these claims.
Among the organizations implicated in the report are several that allegedly support domestic terrorism.
The Capital Research Center believes its findings could influence various accountability measures, including federal investigations and potential sanctions from the US State and Treasury Departments. Mauro pointed out that IRS regulations prohibit nonprofits from engaging in criminal conduct, which might also extend to encouraging such activities.
Beck, surprised by the implications, mentioned he would present the report directly to President Trump.
Mauro further remarked that exposing the financial dealings and the activities of these recipients makes it clear there exists an extensive support network.
