Jimmy Kimmel very upset about ABC's decision to cancel 'Live!': report

Jimmy Kimmel is reportedly very upset following ABC’s decision to end his late-night show after backlash to his comments regarding the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Sources say the comedian, 57, became “mad” after the network’s choice was made public on Wednesday and expressed controversial views in his monologue on Monday night’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” which is now on hold indefinitely.

A producer shared insights about Kimmel’s reaction, noting he is currently in discussions with the network. The incident was widely reported, including in outlets like the Daily Mail.

Kimmel’s monologue faced criticism, particularly after comments implying he was leveraging political gain from Kirk’s murder, which occurred on September 10 when a 22-year-old gunman, Tyler Robinson, shot Kirk in Orem, Utah.

Nexstar Media Group, a key ABC affiliate, has confirmed that Kimmel’s show will face follow-up actions as a result of the remarks made.

In his monologue, Kimmel stated, “We hit some new lows over the weekend along with the Magagang, who are trying to portray this child who killed Charlie Kirk as something other than one of them.”

Within media circles, sources indicated that ABC’s decision was seen as the “last straw,” suggesting Kimmel’s time with the network may soon be over.

Meanwhile, former President Trump seemed to celebrate the news soon after it broke. He posted on True Society around 8 PM EST while visiting England with King Charles and other leaders, congratulating ABC for their decision. “Kimmel has zero talent and has a worse rating than Colbert, if that’s even possible,” he added.
