Danica Patrick Reacts to Jimmy Kimmel’s Removal from ABC Radio
Former racing star Danica Patrick has expressed her thoughts on Jimmy Kimmel’s indefinite removal from ABC radio, a decision stemming from his recent comments regarding the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Patrick shared her excitement about the move in a social media post on Wednesday.
In one of her Instagram stories, she linked to an article about Kimmel’s removal, saying, “Many decency is back. Thank God.” It was her way of highlighting what she saw as a necessary change.
Additionally, Patrick included a screenshot of a 2017 tweet from Kirk stating, “Jimmy Kimmel is not funny.” She has been vocal about her conservative views and has shown support for Donald Trump and his policies in recent years. Patrick is among a few right-wing figures who have backed the decision to oust Kimmel following his controversial remarks.
Kimmel had accused Kirk of reaching a “new low” in trying to attach his left-leaning ideology to the 22-year-old suspect, Tyler Robinson, who is involved in a serious legal situation. On the weekend, Kimmel commented on what he viewed as an effort to distort the narrative surrounding the tragic events involving Kirk.
His comments came shortly after both FBI officials and Utah governor Spencer Cox indicated that Robinson had embraced increasingly radical leftist views over time. It was also reported that Robinson was in a romantic relationship with a transgender person.
Brendan Kerr, Chair of the Federal Communications Commission, warned Disney to address the public outcry or face consequences. He labeled Kimmel’s statements as some of the most “sickest acts” he’s seen in a while.
Nexstar Media Group, which controls numerous television stations, announced that it would be preempting Kimmel’s show indefinitely due to his comments regarding Kirk’s assassination. This was later confirmed by Disney, which stated that “Jimmy Kimmel Live” would be off the air for an indefinite period.
