Charlie Hull shared that President Trump extended a golf invitation to her during their chat at a state banquet on Wednesday.
During a conversation with BBC Radio 5 Live on Thursday, the English golfer mentioned that Trump had reached out to her agent in 2024 to arrange a golf outing, but scheduling conflicts made it impossible at that time.
“He says he wants to organize some games,” Hull recounted, adding, “It’s pretty cool… We’re really trying to figure this out by the end of the year.”
Currently ranked fifth in the women’s world golf rankings at 29 years old, Hull had previously commented on her experience at the state banquet, mentioning her excitement about finally meeting Trump. She even posted a picture of her dress on social media, describing the evening as “an unforgettable night at Windsor Castle” and adding it to her collection of memories.
“I swapped my golf gear for something a bit fancier,” she noted on Instagram.
Recently, Hull claimed victory at the Kroger Queen City Championship, marking her first LPGA title in three years and her third win overall since turning professional. Her ascent in the sport had previously captured attention when she went viral for a stogie break on the course, but she’s now focusing on her game without distractions.
Reflecting on her conversation with Trump, Hull described him as “lovely” and mentioned how engaged he was. “We were just discussing golf, the LPGA Tour, and some of the players,” she recalled, eager about the prospect of playing with him.
Although Hull is not competing in this week’s Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, she has enjoyed a successful season, which includes three top five finishes. Last week, she tied for fourth place at the HSBC Women’s World Championship in Hamilton Township, Ohio, and earlier placed second in the AIG Women’s Open.
