Update on Nicholas Rosuke’s Case
A recent report reveals that Nicholas Rosuke, who attempted to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2022, now identifies as a transgender woman and uses female pronouns. This information comes from Mary Margaret Orohan, a White House correspondent for Daily Wire. According to Orohan’s post, the documents suggest that Rosuke, previously known as a biological male, is struggling mentally.
The Daily Wire further reported that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has recommended a 30-year sentence for Rosuke, now using the name Sophie, for his failed assassination attempt. A filing from the Justice Department confirms the sentencing recommendation based on his actions in 2022.
In that filing, it is stated that Rosuke, now 29, pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of a Supreme Court justice. This incident occurred in April 2022, when authorities arrested him near Kavanaugh’s home with a bag containing weapons and burglary tools.
Documents from Rosuke’s defense indicate that he is being referred to as ‘Sophie Roske’ by his legal team. Interestingly, a footnote in the legal filing mentions that the defense refrains from using terms like “respectfully” concerning his actions.
Reports suggest that sources familiar with the case noted Rosuke was using a female identity online before his attempted crime. The details come after he pleaded guilty in April to charges related to the assassination attempt.
As part of his plea agreement, Rosuke acknowledged that on June 7, 2022, he flew from Los Angeles to Dulles International Airport with firearms and ammunition in his luggage. He intended to take a taxi to Montgomery County, Maryland, to carry out the plan against Kavanaugh.
In a statement, Attorney General Pam Bondy referred to the attempt as a “heinous attack” on the judiciary. Notably, according to Joel Pollack, a senior editor at Breitbart News, Rosuke indicated that he was motivated by the leaked draft opinion regarding the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
Rosuke’s arrest occurred in June 2022, near Kavanaugh’s residence in Maryland.
