Sarah Michelle Gellar Faces Backlash Over Daughter’s Birthday Gift

Sarah Michelle Gellar recently encountered criticism online after sharing that she gifted her daughter Charlotte a “riskyly expensive” jeep for her 16th birthday.

In the comments on her Instagram post celebrating Charlotte, several fans voiced their disapproval of what they considered Gellar’s “disappointing” parenting choice. One user commented, “Happy birthday Charlotte… Don’t normalize giving a new young driver a ridiculously expensive car. I think you sadly took it from your wonderful daughter’s birthday.”

“I’m happy with you and Charlotte, but do 16-year-olds really need to be given a jeep for every car? A fuel guzzler is one thing,” another user remarked. They went on to express concern about wealthy parents failing to instill the value of hard work and money in their children.

Some fans defended Gellar, with one noting, “We need to normalize that someone is light and jealous of having something you’re not doing!” Another added that the situation wasn’t “really that serious.”
