Nebraska shocks Michigan with a 52-Yard Hail Mary pass

Exciting Finish in Big Ten Showdown

The first half of the Big Ten match-up between Nebraska and Michigan on Saturday ended dramatically with a standout play that many will remember. Michigan clinched a 30-27 victory, but it was Jacory Barney Jr.’s remarkable 52-yard touchdown catch from Dylan Raiola just before halftime that really stole the show. A successful kick from Kyle Kunanan evened the score at 17 as both teams headed to their locker rooms.

Earlier, in the second quarter, Michigan’s Judge Haynes broke free for a 75-yard touchdown run, pushing the Wolverines ahead 17-10. After this play, Nebraska had 1:51 left in the half to respond.

After calling a timeout with just over a second remaining, Nebraska’s Emmett Johnson made a significant run. Raiola then launched a high pass downfield, where Barney managed to outpace Michigan’s Jayden Mangham to score.

This play echoed memories of Ron Kellogg III’s iconic 49-yard Hail Mary from 2013, which led to a thrilling victory against Northwestern.

Earlier in the game, Raiola and Barney had connected on a 26-yard touchdown, showcasing their strong offensive partnership. Despite Nebraska’s late-game efforts, Michigan held on for the win, moving to a 3-1 record as they head into their bye week.

With this loss, the Cornhuskers now also stand at 3-1, marking a competitive start to the season.
