Trump Urges Action from Attorney General Pam Bondy
On Saturday evening, President Trump expressed his demands through a post on Truth Social, calling on Attorney General Pam Bondy to take action.
This comes after news that the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Sheebert, resigned, though the circumstances hinge on varying accounts. “He didn’t stop, I fired him!” Trump stated on Truth Social, in response to claims by some sources that he had pressured Sheebert to charge New York Attorney General Letitia James.
In his post, Trump noted that he had “reviewed over 30 statements and posts” from Bondy, emphasizing the inefficacy he felt, saying, “It’s the same old story as last time—plenty of talk, no action. They’re all sinning like hell, but nothing is being done.”
He voiced concern about the direction taken by his team, mentioning “Woke Reno” as someone who failed to fulfill obligations. “He misled the media, saying he had quit and we had no case. No, I fired him,” Trump clarified. He expressed admiration for Lindsay Harrigan, referring to her as a talented lawyer but insisting that stronger prosecution was needed in the district.
Trump’s message included a call to action, asserting, “We can’t delay it anymore; this is damaging our reputation and credibility. They’ve each fired me twice, prosecuted me multiple times, and still, nothing happens.”
Harrigan currently serves as a special assistant and senior assistant staff secretary at the White House. Trump highlighted her involvement in an executive order aimed at reshaping American historical narratives, suggesting a focus on correcting educational practices.
He praised Bondy for her competence but highlighted the need for a more aggressive prosecutor in charge of the Eastern District of Virginia. “What we don’t need is Democrats who support ‘Republicans,’” he remarked, pushing for the appointment of Harrigan to the key district role.
Regarding Sheebert, Trump recounted that he felt unsatisfied after seeing two Democratic senators approve his nomination. “When I saw him approved by those two, I thought, ‘He’s of no use, so pull it,’” Trump recounted, expressing a sense of disillusionment with the legal landscape.
